Tractor & Vintage Car Run Raised €9.5k

On the 29th October 2023, the Broughan Engineering Ltd Tractor & Vintage Car Run created a whirlwind of excitement throughout the community of Tullow! The idea for this amazing fundraiser came as a result of Fiach O’Byrne travelling his rehab journey as an inpatient in the National Rehabilitation Hospital (NRH), Dun Laoghaire.  Families, friends, and many car and tractor enthusiasts come out in force to support this fundraising event for the NRH.  The whole community revved up their engines for this heartwarming fundraiser.  The variety of vehicles participating was a real sight not to be missed – a colossal John Deere flexing its 370 horsepower muscles alongside a pint-sized grey Ferguson with just 20 horsepower, cruising like a champ for 22 kilometres!  The full array of tractors and vintage cars paraded from Tullow Mart through to Rathoe, Ballon, Ardattin, and back, spreading joy and vintage vibes all around.  A total of 140 tractors and dozens of vintage cars took part in the run, which was then followed by a fundraising night of music, yummy treats and a raffle in the Ardattin Inn, organised by Carole of Broughan Engineering on behalf of Fiach and his family.

Huge thanks to Fiach O’Byrne & Family and to Carole and all the team in Broughan Engineering Ltd for organising this epic event in support of the NRH.  This phenomenal event has raised a staggering €9,500 for specialist HUR Rehabilitation exercise equipment and Table Tennis Equipment in the NRH, aiming to further aid the rehabilitation of adults and children.

Your amazing support means the world to us!  A MASSIVE THANK YOU to all the participants, fundraisers, donors, and sponsors for providing a beacon of hope for those on their rehabilitation journey at the NRH. Your generosity is truly changing lives.
