TCD Med Day 2018

Trinity College Dublin (TCD) Med Day Committee 2018 presented a cheque to Edel Lambe, NRH Foundation Fundraising Manager and Dr. Shane Hanratty, from the National Rehabilitation Hospital (NRH) for the fantastic sum of €10,000 as the result of their phenomenal fundraising event TCD Med Day 2018.

These funds received will allow the NRH Foundation to support the purchase of a new specialist Musculoskeletal Ultrasound Imaging System which will be used in both the Spinal Cord Programme and the Brain Injury Programme within the NRH.  This new machine will provide the hospital with a very exciting opportunity to further enhance the management of patients with neurological disabilities.  The machine will be used to guide botulinum toxin injections and intra-articular joint injections very accurately, thereby improving patient outcomes by increasing the safety and accuracy of therapeutic injections in both inpatients and outpatients at the NRH.  The Musculoskeletal Ultrasound Imaging System will also enable bedside and in clinic diagnosis of common musculoskeletal conditions affecting NRH patients thereby facilitating their treatment plan.

Thank you so much to the TCD Med Day Committee for choosing the NRH Foundation as one of your beneficiary charities for 2018 and for the difference you will make to the lives of patients and their rehabilitation journeys in the NRH.
