On Sunday the 14th of June 2020, Cian McWhinney took up the very challenging task of successfully completing a half marathon, whilst also raising vital funds to support the Spinal Service in the National Rehabilitation Hospital (NRH). Cian experienced first hand the services provided by the Spinal Cord System of Care team in the NRH when just over two and a half years ago Cian himself suffered a spinal cord contusion.

Although the rain appeared on the day this did not deter Cian in completing this challenge in just over 2 hours. At Cian’s request, all funds raised will go towards helping the Spinal Cord System of Care team (Spinal Injury Programme) to continue their fantastic work.
We would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Cian on this amazing achievement and to thank him so much for thinking of the NRH as his beneficiary charity, especially during these very uncertain times. The funds he has raised will make a real direct difference to the lives of patients, now and into future.
