€2,479.80 Raised from Cold Water Swimming

Throughout December 2023, Penny Morris took the plunge into icy waters daily to fundraise for the National Rehabilitation Hospital (NRH). She kicked off her cold water swimming challenge with a 1-minute dip, adding another minute each day throughout the month, into the freezing cold water. Penny’s motivation behind deciding to fundraise for the NRH came from her Dad’s medical journey before his sad passing. She says:

“𝑇ℎ𝑟𝑒𝑒 𝑦𝑒𝑎𝑟𝑠 𝑎𝑔𝑜, 𝑚𝑦 𝑓𝑎𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑟 𝑢𝑛𝑓𝑜𝑟𝑡𝑢𝑛𝑎𝑡𝑒𝑙𝑦 𝑝𝑎𝑠𝑠𝑒𝑑 𝑎𝑤𝑎𝑦 𝑓𝑟𝑜𝑚 𝑎 𝑠𝑡𝑟𝑜𝑘𝑒 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑎𝑓𝑡𝑒𝑟 𝑠𝑒𝑒𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑙𝑒𝑣𝑒𝑙 𝑜𝑓 𝑐𝑎𝑟𝑒 𝑟𝑒𝑞𝑢𝑖𝑟𝑒𝑑 𝑡𝑜 𝑡𝑟𝑒𝑎𝑡 𝑝𝑒𝑜𝑝𝑙𝑒 𝑤ℎ𝑜’𝑣𝑒 𝑏𝑒𝑒𝑛 𝑎𝑓𝑓𝑒𝑐𝑡𝑒𝑑 𝑏𝑦 𝑡ℎ𝑖𝑠 𝑖𝑙𝑙𝑛𝑒𝑠𝑠, 𝐼 𝑘𝑛𝑒𝑤 ℎ𝑜𝑤 𝑖𝑚𝑝𝑜𝑟𝑡𝑎𝑛𝑡 𝑖𝑡 𝑤𝑎𝑠 𝑡𝑜 𝑟𝑎𝑖𝑠𝑒 𝑓𝑢𝑛𝑑𝑠 𝑓𝑜𝑟 𝑎 𝑟𝑒ℎ𝑎𝑏𝑖𝑙𝑖𝑡𝑎𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛 𝑓𝑎𝑐𝑖𝑙𝑖𝑡𝑦.”

Huge thank you to Penny for raising a fantastic €2,479.80 for the NRH, in memory of her Father, may he rest in peace. These funds will make a huge difference in supporting patients, of all ages, in need of rehab at the NRH.
