Before Christmas we were contacted by a lady called Alva, whose husband had been involved in a car accident in February 2013, about a Christmas day swim.  Because of his severe injuries sustained from the accident he spent over six months in the NRH.  Alva wanted to raise funds for the NRH Foundation by doing a Christmas Day Swim, to support the hospital and to say thank you for the care he received here.  On Christmas Day Alva braved the cold sea and raised €937.00.  She chose for these funds to be directed to the care of the patients in St. Patrick’s Ward in the NRH.  We would like to say a huge congratulations to Alva on completing her chilly challenge and for raising vitals funds to support the patients in St Patrick’s Ward on their rehabilitation journeys.
