The Grimes family decided to fundraise for the NRH after James became a patient of the Spinal Programme as a result of sustaining catastrophic spinal injuries from a farm accident. The power and strength of local community was very evident through this amazing community fundraising coffee day, organised by the Grimes family on their family farm to raise funds for the NRH Spinal Programme. A constant stream of people, from near and far and of all ages, supported the event, which ran from noon until 7pm on a cold Sunday in late November 2025.
This amazing event raised a phenomenal €21,104 for the NRH Spinal Programme. The NRH is so appreciative of this amazing support, where a donation of this size will be hugely impactful in supporting patients of all ages within the Spinal service, now and into the future.
