We would like to say a huge thank you to Carmel, Alan, Sean, and their amazing fundraising Committee for organising a fundraising event in aid of the NRH Foundation, which raised the phenomenal amount of €16,799.80
25-year-old Alan Scott from Clonfad and Sean Duignan from Clonellan are both past patients of the NRH. The families had such a positive experience and were delighted with the exceptional standard of care they received in the NRH that the two families were prompted to “give something back to the hospital.”

Family, friends, and the local community came together and worked in close conjunction with Alan, his Mother Carmel and Sean to come up with ideas for a fundraising drive. Eventually, it was decided to host a 5k walk/run in Ballydangan on Sunday, October 28th, 2018, and a fancy-dress function later the same evening in Millar’s Bar.
The entire communities of Moore, Drum and surrounding areas really got behind the project, and it turned out to be a huge success.
We would like to extend our warmest gratitude to everyone who organised and supported the fundraiser, and those who sold tickets, donated auction items, spot prizes and sums of money.
At a cheque presentation evening in Millar’s Bar on November 8th, 2018, Edel Lambe, Fundraising Manager for the NRH Foundation, expressed her huge gratitude to everyone for raising such an amazing amount and she added that the funds would be used for the benefit of all patients, both adults and children, attending the NRH.
